This project builds chromosome-scale, annotated reference genomes for orphan cereal crops that have historically been left out of large genomics efforts. By combining long-read sequencing with optical and Hi-C scaffolding, the team resolves the repetitive, often polyploid genomes of these species and releases assemblies, annotations, and variant catalogues as open resources for breeders and researchers.
